Alessandra Tosi's research focuses on early nineteenth century Russian fiction, reception and gender studies. She is the author of Waiting for Pushkin: Russian Fiction in the Reign of Alexander I (1801-1825) (Rodopi, 2006) and (with Prof Wendy Rosslyn) of Women in 18th Century Russian Culture and Society (Palgrave, 2007) and (with T.V. Artem'eva and others) of A.M. Belozel'skii-Belozerskii i ego filosofskoe nasledie (Sankt-Peterburgskii tsentr istorii idei, 2008). Alessandra is currently writing a book on Princess Zinaida Volkonskaia (1789-1862) and editing a volume on Women in Modern Russia. She is also the co-editor (with Prof. A. Cross) of the Study Group on Eighteenth-Century Russia Newsletter.
